Operational Challenge

Handling High SKU Variety on One Line

Fresh-cut salads. Sushi rolls. Mixed noodle bowls. Bento boxes with 8 different vegetable garnishes. Pre-portioned stir-fry kits. Every single one of these products starts with a raw vegetable that needs to be cut to a different specification: fine herb shreds at 2 millimeters, cabbage chunks at 30 millimeters, cucumber slices at paper-thin 1 millimeter, carrot julienne at 3 millimeters.

This 10,000 square meter factory in a major agricultural hub produces over 100 distinct SKUs for retail and convenience store distribution. TEEMYEAH provided the production planning, layout design, and vegetable washing and cutting equipment for the vegetable core that feeds every product line.

The SKU Flexibility Challenge

In a factory producing a single product, you optimize for speed. In a factory producing 100+ products, you optimize for changeover. The ability to switch between cut specifications quickly and reliably determines whether you can produce 100 SKUs profitably or whether the accumulated changeover downtime makes half of them uneconomical.

The TW-902P’s quick-release blade cassette system was the critical enabling technology. Changeover between any two cut specifications takes less than 2 minutes, with no tools required. In a single production shift, one operator can cycle through dozens of different vegetable types and cut formats. The centralized cutting zone feeds into multiple downstream assembly lines for different product categories, maximizing equipment utilization.

Retail-Grade Visual Quality: The Silent Requirement

When the end consumer is picking up a salad in a convenience store, visual appearance is the purchase decision. Browned lettuce edges, oxidized carrot surfaces, or visible moisture bloom inside the packaging means the product stays on the shelf and gets discarded.

The TW-902P’s dual-frequency modulation produces mirror-flat cut surfaces that resist browning for 24 to 48 hours, compared to 2 to 4 hours with manual knife cuts. Combined with EOS8132-SD ozone sterilization (zero chemical residue, critical for retail shelf appeal) and TW-980LB VFD dewatering (95%+ moisture removal), the products maintain premium visual appearance through Day 5 to 7 in MAP packaging. This shelf life extension is what makes nationwide retail distribution viable. Without it, the distribution window is too narrow for the logistics chain.

What This Means for Retail Suppliers Abroad

The fresh-cut retail market in the Middle East and Southeast Asia is growing rapidly, driven by urbanization, convenience culture, and supermarket expansion. Any supplier entering this space needs to solve the same equation: high SKU variety, rapid changeover, retail-grade visual quality, and 5 to 7 day shelf life. This facility is a working template for how to do it.
